Successes of the Leading House at the XXXI AEDE Meeting

  • Co-director Stefan C. Wolter held a keynote speech at AEDE on “The Firm: The Stepchild of Economics of Education”. He pointed out the important role of firms in the vocational education systems & factors that affect firms’ decisions to train apprentices. A full recording of the keynote is available here
  • Leading House doctoral student Patricia Palffy won the Best Paper Award for her paper on occupational choices: One size does not fit all: A large-scale field experiment on countering gender-typical occupational choices here
  • Leading House PostDoc Maddalena Davoli won one of the runner-up prizes for her paper on Financial Literacy: A, B, or C? Question Format and the Gender Gap in Financial Literacy here

Additionally, Chiara Zisler  successfully presented her dissertation project on “Opening doors for immigrants: The importance of occupational and workplace-based cultural skills for successful labor market entry”

and Andreas F. Bühler his dissertation project on “Curriculum Updates in Vocational Education and Changes in Skills and Wages”.

The meeting took place on June 29-30, 2023 in Santiago de Compostela. We thank the organizing committee of the meeting for their great work.
