Headline
Chicago Tribune, January 6th 2016, Frontpage

With changing demographics and a restructuring economy, Chicago, like other American cities and regions around the world, is being prompted to rethink the way it prepares its students for the working world. On January 6th, the Chicago Tribune published an article on how the European model to workplace based vocational education and training (VET) is being tried out across the U.S.

The article contains comments by Prof. Uschi Backes-Gellner (Co-Director of the Swiss Leading House of Economics of Education and the Center on the Economics and Management of Education and Training Systems CEMETS), Prof. Ursula Renold (Former Head of the Swiss Federal Office for Professional Education and Technology and Co-Director of CEMETS) and other leading experts and practitioners in the field of vocational education and training.
