The Award

The Award aims to honour the best published paper of Leading House researchers in a refereed journal. One or two additional prizes are awarded as runner-up prizes. The reputation of the journal is considered as one of the main factors for awarding the prize.

Eligible are all papers published in the year of the Award (e.g. date of print has to be 2008 for the Award 2008) that are authored or co-authored by a person working in the Leading House or at one of the two chairs of the Leading House Directors. Additionally, papers written in the context of the external projects of the Leading House as well as papers of PhD-students officially admitted to the Leading House Course Programme for Doctoral Students in Economics of Education are also eligible.

The Award 2008 was assiged by an international jury consisting of the Leading House Advisory Board members Proff. Ludger Wössmann (chairman), Steve Machin, Paul Ryan and Catherine Sofer.
